Taking an international side over to Ireland appears to be the flavour of the month. This time is is Scotland Women’s Under 19s which will be heading over the water to take on the Republic of Ireland next Saturday. The game will be their final preparation for the UEFA qualifiers in April. The fixture date does clash with the day that the majority of the football supporting Scots will be concentrating on the World Cup qualifier in Milan. Queen’s Park’s Julie Myles returns to the squad, while there is a first time call up for Kathleen Lagan of Arthurlie.
The details of the game are that it will be played on Saturday 26 March at Swords Round in Dublin (Home Farm FC’s ground), with a 12 noon kick-off. Next month, the Scotland squad will be heading to Portugal for their final UEFA qualifiers against Belgium, Israel and the hosts, starting on 27 April.
