Hopefully the interest in women's football will not fall away after the defeat of the senior squad over in America. The scoreline was 8-2 and the temperature in Ohio was 96 degrees. Not a bad result really when you add in the statistic that the American squad was worth £18 million. However, it was still a game lost. The women's game is growing in popularity and there is a chance for the Scotland Under 19 squad to win some silverware.
The Jubilee Cup 2002 is due to be played at the Billy Neil Centre, Castlereagh, Belfast between 19th – 21st September with the four celtic countries playing each other. Well, not all the countries will play each other as Scotland will not face Northern Ireland. The two teams have been drawn in the same UEFA qualifying tournament in Bulgaria later this month and it made sense not to play so soon before a match that counts. If you fancy a trip over the water later this week here are the fixtures.
