Vancouver May Be The Place To Be In July

While Victoria is where Scotland's Under 20s squad will be based for their World Cup group F games, Vancouver will be the place to be on July 7 when Scotland play Costa Rica. The first two sets of group games are to be played as double headers, so you get two games for your money. The last game in each group will be played at the same local time with Scotland-Costa Rica (5pm kick-off) being played as a double-header after the Group B game between Spain and Jordan (2:15 kick off). Both of these games will be played at the Swangard Stadium which can be found in Burnaby which is a short metro ride from all the attractions of downtown Vancouver.

If Scotland progress from the group stage as leaders of their Group, their next game will be back in Victoria on 11 July. If they are group runners up, they will play in Ottawa on 12 July. If they are one of the best third placed teams, their next game will be in either Montreal on 11 July or Toronto on 12 July. But we should not need to worry about that possibility as Scotland will top the group!

Fly the flag

So how best to fill your time waiting for the game to kick off in Vancouver you ask. I presume you would be asking such a question or else I am wasting my time.

Why not take a ride in one of the horse-drawn tours in Stanley Park, visit the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum or one of the many other attractions listed below;

Bloedel Floral Conservatory, Queen Elizabeth Park, Burnaby Village Museum, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Grouse Mountain, The Peak of Vanocuver, Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, Maplewood Farm, Playland at the Pacific National Exhibition, Science World at TELUS World of Science, The Fair at the Pacific National Exhibition, UBC Botanical Garden & Centre for Plant Research, UBC Museum of Anthropology, Vancouver Aquarium, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Lookout! Harbour Centre Tower, Vancouver Maritime Museum, Vancouver Museum, or Vancouver Police Centennial Museum.

There are just so many things to see and do that it would be impossible to put them all on this page.

We are in touch with the Vancouver branch of the Tartan Army and they should be able to provide information on the best places to eat and drink no matter what your budget. Any information they provide will be on the site as soon as possible.
