Last updated : 25 January 2011 By Ed_ScottishFitba

Scotland's Women's squad will be heading to Wales next month for their first game of 2011. We told you yesterday that the A Squad would be meeting up for a training session at Toryglen Regional Football Centre this weekend. This is part of the preparations for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 qualifiers later in the year which now include a friendly in Haverfordwest on 13 February. Following on from then, Scotland will take part in the annual Cyprus Women’s Cup in early March. Full details of who Scotland will play in the sun are not available at the moment but we hope to post the details as soon as possible. Scotland are also having to wait till 14 March to hear who they will play in the UEFA Qualifiers

National coach Anna Signeul said: “We’re looking forward to getting the squad together again this weekend ahead of the first match of the year. After putting together a long winning run in last year’s World Cup Qualifiers, and getting so close to the play-offs, it’s important for us to keep that momentum going. e’re very pleased to confirm the friendly match against Wales in February, as I think it’s essential for us to get a game under our belts early in the year. We’re competing in the annual Cyprus Women’s Cup in early March, and the match against Wales will give us a good test ahead of the tournament, which comes just before the draw for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 qualifiers on 14 March.”
