Scottish Women’s Football CEO Aileen Campbell has been elected to the board of the Scottish FA, joining Andrew McKinlay, Chief Executive of Heart of Midlothian. Aileen will represent the non-professional game board (NPGB) on the governing body.
Commenting, Campbell said: “I am pleased to have been elected to the board of the Scottish FA and look forward to engaging positively and being a strong and constructive voice for all levels of football represented on the NPGB which have such important reach and connection to communities across Scotland, as well as maintaining good communication across all levels of football. Like other areas of the grassroots game, women’s football is gaining interest and relies on the support of countless volunteers in communities across the country. I hope I can make a positive contribution on their behalf.”
SWF chair Vivienne MacLaren said: “I welcome the fact that this will be the first time SWF has been represented on the board of the Scottish FA and I believe, the first time the non-professional board has been represented by a woman. I’m sure Aileen will do all organisations proud.”
