The 26-year-old arrives at Petershill Park following a successful season in the capital with Heart of Midlothian where she played a key role in Eva Olid’s side obtaining a record points tally in the flight. Personal acclaim would also come for the English forward when Katie was named in the 2023-24 PFA Scotland SWPL Team of the Season. Comfortable playing across the final third Lockwood has spent the last two seasons in Scotland’s top flight having arrived in 2022 at Hibs before making the move to city rivals Hearts last season.
Lockwood said: "I came and met Laura and Leanne and I was really excited to hear what they had to say and what Glasgow City are trying to do. I think that the rich history of the club and that expectation to win trophies was a big attraction so I want to push myself to win titles, trophies and hopefully experience the Champions League as well."
Glasgow City Head Coach Leanne Ross said: "I am delighted to welcome Katie to Glasgow City. Whilst playing for Hibs and Hearts, Katie always caused us problems with her intelligent movement, creativity in possession and goal scoring threat. I admire the way she plays the game and believe she will add a different dimension to our attacking play for the season ahead. Her goal scoring record in the SWPL is excellent for an attacking midfield player and is something I hope she will continue to deliver and improve during her time at the club. With her knowledge and experience of the league, I have no doubt Katie will adapt quickly to her new teammates and surroundings and be ready to hit the ground running in the orange and black of Glasgow City."
