Love first arrived at the club in 2011 and remains Scotland’s most capped outfield player.  Over the years Love has firmly established herself as a key figure during City's era of unprecedented success winning eleven league titles, six Women’s Scottish Cups, four SWPL Cups along with being a regular feature during numerous UEFA Women’s Champions League campaigns.

Love said: "It was an easy decision at the end of the day. I had shown an interest in wanting to stay at Glasgow City and they’ve been more than willing to extend my contract. I wanted to be surrounded by the right people and here is the exact place for that.
The fact that we play good football and aspire to be serial winners is important but first and foremost it’s about what the club believes in and they believe in me as well. I’ve got a deep rooted association with the City that I’m looking forward to continuing."

City's  Head Coach Leanne Ross said: "Jo’s contract extension is great news. Her record at the club more than speaks for itself but probably doesn’t quite do justice to the impact she has made both on and off the pitch. To have someone with her expertise and leadership on the pitch and in our dressing room is huge, she is a born winner and her competitive mentality is infectious amongst the group."
