A pretty even first half at Petershill sprang into life just before half-time, Rossvale cleared a shot off the line before at the other end Lyndsay Holmes shot through a bedlam of defenders to open the scoring. But the Fifers produced a strong second half to inflict a first victory of the season on the Glasgow side, with Rossvale failing to deal with terrific deliveries at corners from Rigby Wilson to allow Thomson and Skivington to score, either side of a defensive mix-up as Liz Anderson rose for a header which ended up with the ball in the net.

Two Championship games were postponed due to the incoming storms, but Dryburgh Athletic scored two late goals to win 3-2 at home against Renfrew Ladies.

The Dundee side went ahead via Clara Laing before goals from McGunnigle and Castle had Renfrew in front. Stacey McFadyen levelled with five to go, then youngster Hayden Coutts scored at the death to take all three points and move within a point of the visitors in the table.

In League One, a valiant attempt at a comeback by leaders Forfar Farmington fell short as visitors Bonnyrigg Rose won 4-3. Two headed goals by defender Rachel Vickerman helped Stenhousemuir to a convincing 5-0 victory against Falkirk in the Central Scotland derby. Queen of the South came away with a 1-0 victory against Airdrie Ladies, while four goals from Jen Caldwell helped St Mirren to a 7-1 win at home against Dundee West after the visitors had their keeper sent off.

In the preliminary round of the SWFL Plate, which comprises of teams knocked out of the league cup, Dunfermline Athletic, Gleniffer Thistle, Dunipace, Nithsdale Wanderers, Edinburgh University Thistle and Musselburgh Windsor progressed with wins, with three games falling foul of the weather.
